Admission to The Florence, Italy Undergraduate Study Abroad Program

Marist Italy Bachelor's Degree Admissions and Application Information

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Marist Florence, Italy Campus. The Marist College Florence, Italy Sister Campus offers a unique educational experience for undergraduate students looking to study abroad. Marist College, in partnership with Lorenzo de' Medici (LdM), offers four-year bachelor's degrees in Studio Art, Fine Arts, Art History, Conservation Studies, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising (with concentrations in Business, Product Development, and Promotion), Interior Design, Interior Design, Italian Language and Communication with a concentration in Global Marketing Communication.

The Admission Committee welcomes your application to the undergraduate Florence, Italy bachelor’s degree program. Below you will find the list of required documents for a completed application.

Due to Italian law, all non-European Union citizens must be 18 years of age in order to enroll at the Florence campus.

Florence Italy Application and Admissions Requirements

Please submit the following:

  • Complete application online or download and print  pdf icon
  • Submit official Secondary School transcript (official English translation into the US system)
  • Personal Essay
  • Two letters of recommendation for first-year applicants, one letter for transfer applicants
  • A virtual interview with a Marist staff member. The estimated length of the interview is 20-30 minutes.
  • Forward official results of the SAT or ACT exam if you want the Admission Committee to consider your scores. Marist is SAT/ACT optional.
  • If you are applying for Studio Art or Interior Design, please complete and submit the corresponding portfolio requirements.
  • Marist is SAT/ACT optional. If you do take the exams, please forward official results of the SAT or ACT exam if you want the Admission Committee to consider your scores. 
  • English Proficiency Exam results if you are a non-native English-speaking student. Marist accepts the TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Proficiency Test with a score of 115.
    • TOEFL - Students must submit a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam or a 213 on the computer-based TOEFL or an 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam.
    • IELTS - Students must submit a minimum score of 6.5. All test scores must come directly from the Testing Service to Marist College. 
      Note: the Marist report code is 2400. The admission process will be delayed without official documents. Please note: Duolingo, TOEFL or IELTS scores must be less than two years old from the first day of class at the proposed term of entry in order to be valid.

*Note: The English Proficiency Exam result requirement can be waived for students who have met any of the following criteria:

  • Completed or are pursuing an International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • Attained a minimum score of 500 on the SAT Critical Reading or Writing section
  • Attended a U.S. or international school taught in English for a minimum of four years without any English as a Second Language courses

Applications are processed and reviewed on a rolling basis.

Please note, if you are an adult undergraduate student (22 years of age or older), and plan to apply to Marist Italy campus four-year degree program, please use this application.

The preferred deadlines are:

  • Fall: March 1
  • Spring: November 1
