September 24, 2024 — Nearly 1,000 visitors were welcomed to campus Sunday for the first of three fall open houses, giving prospective students and their families the chance to explore Marist’s picturesque campus and experience the College’s diverse academic offerings. On Sunday, families from across the country, including the West Coast, the Midwest, and the Northeast visited Marist.

The open houses give prospective students and their families the flexibility to explore Marist’s academic programs, world-class facilities, and student life, while also getting to meet current students, faculty, and staff. Open houses are a valuable experience for high school seniors, in particular, who are looking for “the right fit” as they prepare to apply to their favorite schools later this fall.

Relay-style Tours Showcase What’s Unique About Marist
With so much to see across Marist’s 242-acre riverfront campus, open house tours are conducted "relay style," meaning families will meet multiple student guides along their tour, each of whom has personal experience with the program, feature, or activity they’re discussing at that stop on the tour. For example, your stop at the Investment Center will feature a student who personally uses the Bloomberg terminals, and when you visit the Fashion department’s home in the Steel Plant you’ll hear from a fashion merchandising or design student about their latest project - and maybe even their recent trip to Milan!

Additionally, one of the most unique features of a Marist education is the blending of liberal arts with professional studies. The relay-style tours are structured to showcase the many hand-on learning labs and experiential opportunities that are spread across campus for students.
