Summer Pre-College: The Science Behind Movement and Exercise
In-Person Session II: July 14 - July 27, 2024
Physical activity has significant health benefits for our bodies and for our minds. Yet as popular as health and fitness has become in our society, 1 in 4 adults does not meet the global recommended levels of physical activity. Even those that do exercise regularly are still often left with many questions surrounding exercise… Should I run at a faster pace or for a longer distance? Lift heavier weight or perform more repetitions? Adopt an intermittent fasting routine or reduce overall caloric intake? How can exercise aid in the prevention and treatment of such conditions as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity?
