Marilyn Kienzle
Senior Professional Lecturer of Computing Technology and Data Science; Director of Enterprise Computing Education
Bio
Prior to joining the faculty at Marist, Marilyn worked for IBM, both as a software engineer and a systems programmer working with IBM Z systems. In addition to her experience with enterprise computing, Marilyn is well versed in a broad spectrum of programming languages from Assembler, Basic and SQL to Java, Perl and Python. In addition to teaching courses in computing technology, data science, and enterprise computing, Marilyn serves as the Director of Enterprise Computing Education, where she has overall responsibility for the technical content and administration of the Enterprise Computing curriculum.
Building off her background in mathematics, computer science, and biotechnology, Marilyn is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science with a concentration in data analytics and precision medicine. Her current research interests are in disease prediction and diagnosis through the application of data analytics and machine learning methods to clinical and genomic datasets.
