In this segment, Jadyn Lance '24 interviews Cooper Hite '25.

Cooper Hite '25

Major: Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing

Hometown: Ann Arbor, Michigan

Q: What is your go-to spot on campus to grab a quick bite?

A: I would have to say the dining hall. I come in here all of the time. When I was a freshman and had an unlimited dining plan, my record was nine times in one day.

Q: If you could have dinner with a famous person, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

A: I would choose Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I enjoy going to the McCann gym every day after class so would love to work out with the Rock after we get dinner. 

Q: The spot on campus where you are the most productive?

A: The quiet dining room in the dining hall. I have gotten a lot of financial literacy work done there. I look over company financials, analyze them, and then make future predictions based on those results.

Q: What do you like about your volunteer work? 

A: I used to volunteer in a preschool classroom for students with disabilities from a young age through high school. When I got to Marist I sought a related opportunity and found volunteering through Campus Ministry (now called the Department of Spiritual Life and Service). Currently, I serve as a van driver, transporting volunteers to various community sites. This experience has been very enjoyable and has instilled in me a commitment to contribute to others' well-being, fostering a mindset beyond self-focus.

Q: Favorite Marist memory?

A: My favorite Marist memory was going to race in San Diego for the crew team. We got to race a bunch of teams from all over the country and we got to go to the beach afterwards.

Q: What are your plans after college?

A: I am going to go out into the workforce, get some experience, and go into healthcare administration. I just received an internship offer from Northwell Health, which is one of the largest healthcare networks in the Northeast. 

Q: Based on your experiences at Marist, what is one piece of advice you would give an underclassman?

A: Talk to anyone and everyone. Doesn't matter who it is or if you think you're gonna like them or not like them. Whether it is a professor, dining hall worker, another student, janitor, it doesn't matter. I've gotten to know so many good people and gotten so many different connections just through conversations. It's always gonna make your day a little bit better.
