Credit for Military Training
We appreciate the contributions and sacrifices you have made to the defense of our country while serving in the Armed Forces. It is now our pleasure to serve you by helping further your education at Marist College.
ACE has evaluated many courses and schools completed within military service. ACE's Military Guide presents credit recommendations and detailed summaries for formal courses and occupations offered by all branches of the military. These credit recommendations appear on the service member’s Joint Services Transcript (JST).
Marist will award academic credit for these courses and schools as transfer credit following the Marist College transfer credit policy. They can be used to fulfill major, core or elective requirements as dictated by the School of Professional Programs transfer credit policy.
To have military courses and schools reviewed by Marist College, students need to request an official transcript be sent to Marist College directly from the Military. Transcripts can be requested through the following channels:
- Airforce – Students need to order an official transcript from the Community College of the Air Force. Their credits will be evaluated from that transcript.
- Army – Students who are or have been enlisted, need to submit an online request to send Marist an AARTS (Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript).
- Navy/Marines – Students who are or have been enlisted, need to submit an online request to send Marist a SMART (Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript).
- Coast Guard – Students who are or have been enlisted, need to submit an online request to send Marist a SMART (Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript).
