Marist to Again Host Renewable Energy Conference
Marist College will again host the Renewable Energy Conference, the premier industry gathering of its type on the East Coast. The June 27-28 conference is presented by The Business Council of New York State and The Hudson Renewable Energy Institute and will bring together executives from the public and private sectors to discuss the role of renewables in the changing energy landscape.
New York State and the nation continue to be dramatically impacted by changes in energy policy. As a result of the Public Service Commission’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) and the Trump Administration's new view on national renewable energy policy, the energy landscape is changing. The conference will examine the impact of these policy changes on the competitive bulk electric market place with associated impacts on the use, development, and pricing of renewable sources of supply.

The conference will kick off with a welcome reception on Tuesday, June 27. On Wednesday, June 28, leading experts in the field of energy, technology, academia, government policy and business will deliver keynotes and speak on panels addressing a range of energy market issues. The format of the conference will allow participants to learn, meet experts, and ask questions on issues most important to industry professionals. Morning sessions are devoted to establishing a foundation for understanding the current status of the energy market place. Afternoon sessions will focus on the practical experiences of those working in these emerging energy markets, and there will be several networking opportunities.
Speakers and panelists scheduled to appear represent the New York State Public Service Commission, National Grid, Central Hudson Gas & Electric, BNP Paribas, BQ Energy, the New York Independent System Operator, and many other companies, agencies, and firms. Marist President David Yellen, School of Management Dean Lawrence G. Singleton, Business Council of New York State President and CEO Heather C.
