February 27, 2024 — Marist and New York Stage and Film (NYSAF) are partnering on winter theatrical productions to be featured at the College’s New York City Executive Center. The productions to be held at 420 5th Avenue, include play readings of How it Ends by Caridad Svich and Bogdonoff by Emma Horwitz.

Svich, a recipient of a lifetime achievement Obie, two National Latine Playwriting awards, an ATCA Primus prize, and a Harvard/Radcliffe fellowship, presents How it Ends on Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m.

Horwitz, who has taught at Rhode Island School of Design, Brown, and Mount Holyoke, showcases Bogdonoff on Monday, March 11 at 3 p.m.

Summer Season at Marist

These theatrical readings are part of a unique partnership between Marist and NYSAF, which brings world-class theatrical productions onto the Poughkeepsie campus, providing opportunities for students to work alongside top theater talent. Last summer, actor Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Boyz n the Hood, Apocalypse Now) premiered his play Like They Do in the Movies, which will make its New York City premiere next month.

The 2023 Summer Season at Marist also featured writer-performer Joe Iconis (Tony Award nomination for Broadway musical Be More Chill), writer-producer Jason Kim (Emmy Award nomination for TV series Barry), and playwright Beth Henley (Pulitzer Prize recipient and Tony Award nomination for Crimes of the Heart).
