Welcome Red Foxes!
August 20, 2024 — Welcome Week helps new and returning students transition into college life, build connections, and engage with the campus community. This year, Welcome Week features an expanded list of events for first-year students. Activities during this time set the stage for a year of growth, friendships, and new opportunities, including the excitement surrounding the highly anticipated opening of the new Dyson Center.

As students move in this week with classes set to begin on Monday, here are some tips to help you get oriented.
- First-year students received an email last week regarding move-in time and parking location.
- Student volunteers will be at the entrances of campus to direct you upon move-in.

After two years of construction, the Dyson Center, new home to the School of Management and School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and more, is ready for the academic year. Faculty and staff started moving in last week to prepare for the start of classes, and a celebratory ribbon cutting and opening ceremony for the entire community is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. You don’t need to have a class there to go inside. There are many common areas to work and gather. Also, the Center for Career Services is now based there. The student-run cafe, Saxbys is set to open there in a few weeks. Check out the new Dyson Center when you get to campus!

These include things like the New Student Welcome, the Red Fox Rumble, and The Academic and Experiential Open House.
We recommend attending other fun and restorative events like the Faculty Ice Cream Social, Morning Mindfulness, Affinity Group Meet Up, petting zoo, and comedy show with Saturday Night Live comedian Sarah Sherman.
