Online Professional Teaching Certification: Special Pricing
Marist recognizes the importance of providing affordable educational opportunities to the men and women working in our nation’s elementary and secondary schools. The following benefits only apply to students who are interested in the hybrid version of the Master of Arts in Educational Psychology program.
- The Master of Arts in Educational Psychology program helps students meet the academic requirements for their New York State Professional Teaching Certification: Featuring discounted tuition for the hybrid format only.
- Flexible programming includes 100% online courses offered during Fall and Spring semesters, with a brief one-week on-site residency at our beautiful Hudson Valley Campus during the summer.

Marist College Online Professional Teaching Certification: An Accessible and Affordable Cohort Degree Program
Two tracks of the Master of Arts degree are offered with both leading to New York State Professional Certification. The first track leads to Professional Certification in Childhood Education (1-6) for students with initial teacher certification in this area. The second track meets the needs of those students who possess initial certification in one of the Adolescence Education areas and leads to initial certification in Middle Childhood Extension (5-6) in addition to meeting the Adolescence Education professional teaching certification requirements.
Program Structure
Marist’s online Master of Arts in Educational Psychology resulting in Professional Teaching Certification program is designed exclusively for K-12 education professionals and combines accelerated scheduling and a reduced pricing structure with the flexibility and convenience of Marist’s online course delivery system. Students in this program represent a diverse mix of education professionals from all corners of New York and throughout the Northeast and Tri-State regions. This combination of experience provides for an intensely rich and beneficial learning experience and allows students the opportunity to widen their professional networks.
The Master of Arts program is comprised of 36 credits of graduate coursework (12 courses). Fall and spring semester courses delivered online with two short summer sessions held at the Marist College campus in Poughkeepsie, NY. During the first summer session, students will be trained in effective strategies for online learning and electronic research. Semester breaks are included. The entire graduate degree program can be completed in just over two years of part-time study.
