Summer Pre-College: Environmental Science
Message from the Program Director
I invite you to explore your environment, from the Marist campus to the Hudson River to a global perspective. Marist is located on the banks of the Hudson, an American Heritage River alive with natural beauty and cultural history. As an Environmental SPC student, you'll learn how today's environmental challenges of energy and sustainability are producing exciting career opportunities. If you're interested in the natural world, the most compelling environmental challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, and getting to know the Hudson Valley environment firsthand, please join us!
Chris Bowser has been an adjunct faculty member in Marist's Department of Environmental Science & Policy and the School of Continuing Education since 2003. He holds a Masters's degree in Environmental Science & Policy from Clark University and a B.S. degree in Biology from Rutgers University. His professional experience has included working as a Peace Corps forestry volunteer in West Africa and serving as Education Director for the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. He is currently the Science Education Specialist for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Hudson River Estuary Program and the Hudson River Research Reserve.
