Summer Pre-College: Statistics

Message from Summer Pre-College Director

I invite you to investigate Statistics and how it is used in a variety of fields.  Collect your own data and see what stories you can tell from it.  Work together investigating different topics in Statistics through hands-on activities.  Become a more critical thinker. Spend two-weeks in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley.

About Professor Carla Hil

Carla Hill has been an adjunct lecturer, teaching associate, and now a lecturer in Marist’s Department of Mathematics and School of Computer Science and Mathematics since 2000, after teaching as an adjunct lecturer at Dutchess Community College starting in 1979.  She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Union College and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Lenoir Rhyne University.  Her interest in Statistics started with a summer job at the Census Bureau working directly with statistics.  She tries to encourage a love of Statistics through her active approach to the material.
