Summer Pre-College Daily Schedules
Typical Daily Schedule for Poughkeepsie, NY Classes
Below is the typical daily schedule during Summer Pre-College in Poughkeepsie, NY. The class will begin at the conclusion of orientation on Opening Day (Sunday, June 26th for Session I and Sunday, July 10th for Session II). Classes are held Sunday to Saturday during the first week, and Monday to Friday during the second week. The program will conclude on Saturday (Saturday, July 9th for Session I and Saturday, July 23th for Session II) with final presentations open to the student’s family/friends.
Social activities will be available for students on the Sunday in-between week one and two. Activities may include off-campus trips, for example, a walk across the Walkway Over the Hudson, movie theatre, bowling, or students may opt for on-campus activities.
7:45 AM - Breakfast
9:00 AM - Class Begins – Class sessions vary each day, and program to program. The course syllabus will contain course-specific details and will be sent out closer to the start of the program.
12:00 PM* - Lunch
1:00 PM - Class Resumes
5:00 PM - Dinner
7:00 PM - Study Time
8:30 PM - Social Activities
11:00 PM – Suite Call – All students must be in their room
*Lunch is staggered by program and run between 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM
Some programs include field trips during class hours - dates and locations will be indicated in the course syllabus.
Evening social activities will be planned by the Housing and Residential Life staff. Activities in past years included karaoke, fire pit, and s’mores, taco night, game night, etc.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to sign up for an optional 10-minute Admission Interview during one of their lunch breaks.
