About Our Club

The purpose of the Marist Pre-PT Club is to provide a framework for undergraduate students who aim to explore the profession of physical therapy. With the aid of the faculty and students from Marist’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, pre-PT club members are able to gain insight into the workload, didactic and hands-on laboratory experiences that the DPT students encounter. DPT students act as liaisons providing insight on the application process, admissions, and professional achievement. The club hosts regular Q&A panels that feature current DPT students as well as local physical therapists that allow members to explore the various work environments and possibilities that the profession has to offer. Various volunteering and community involvement opportunities will be made accessible to all members. The club will host at least four meetings a semester, including a DPT student-run panel, PT speaker events, manual and physical dexterity activities, a fundraising event, etc.
