Thanks to Marist, I landed the internship opportunity of a lifetime with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. I worked on and presented a three-year, multistage plan based on bringing e-sports—an untapped demographic—to the stadium. It was a great experience.

Marist has brought out the go-getter side of me and its curriculum has allowed me to take so many elective courses where I discovered new subjects and issues I didn't even know I had an interest in. I feel like I've definitely got a better idea of who I am and what career path I want to take.

There were many reasons why I chose Marist – the beautiful campus, the people, the culture, the opportunities that came with a school so close to New York City. Before coming to Marist, I had never used a camera, never produced a video, and never edited a video. I now have the privilege of doing all three for Sports Illustrated, which is such a prestigious company, so I’d say the classes and clubs at Marist prepared me pretty well!

At first, I came into Marist as a journalism major, but after having the option of taking PR classes, I fell in love with the field. I believe that Marist gives you time to figure out what you're really interested in before committing. And last semester, with the help of the Communication Internship Center, I was able to intern for SONY Music Entertainment.

  • In Communication Campaign Management, public relations students visit nonprofit organizations in the community, research their client’s situation, and develop strategic communication campaigns for them.
  • Advertising students compete in the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition, during which they create a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign that is pitched to a corporate client.
