Andrew Elrick
Assistant Professor of Sports Communication
Director, Center for Sports Communication
Bio
Dr. Elrick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication as well as Director of the Center for Sports Communication, one of Marist’s Centers for Research and Engagement. He began his career in higher education in 2019 after a 20+ year career in sports media which included stints as a Producer, Managing Editor, Senior Editor and Coordinating Producer at ESPN, College Sports Television, FIBA and CBS Sports. Prior to arriving at Marist, Elrick served as the the Student Media Advisor and a Lecturer at the University of Vermont.

Research Interests / Areas of Focus
Dr. Elrick’s research interests focus on the tensions, both productive and problematic, between fan and professional practices for sports media production workers.
