Mindy Stockfield
Visiting Professional Lecturer
Bio
Mindy has held senior-level positions within the entertainment and media industries including roles as Disney, MTV, Cartoon Network, and Scholastic. She is now honored to be part of the Marist faculty. It is even more rewarding for her to engage with the current generation of college students who were once the “kids” who watched and immersed themselves in the children’s content she built with her teams.
Mindy’s most recent position was Senior Vice President, Marketing, Creative, and Digital for Scholastic. In this role, she oversaw the overall campaign strategy - including Publicity - for top branded series and authors. This included Harry Potter, Dog Man, The Baby-sitters Club, and Clifford. Core to her role was growing authors and helping new books - especially with diverse voices - get discovered.
Prior, Stockfield was the SVP of Marketing for MTV. In this role, she led all campaign strategy, digital and social media marketing, and consumer and trade advertising for MTV’s live events such as the VMAs and promotion for franchises such as “Teen Wolf.”
In addition, Stockfield served in Vice President roles for The Walt Disney Company. She led the marketing for their adult trade book division working with authors such as Mitch Albom, Caroline Kennedy, and Michael J. Fox as well as managed the cross-over book series with Disney/ABC television properties. She also served as Vice President of Digital Media for Disney Channel where she oversaw content and business development on digital platforms. There she launched some of the iconic online games tied to hits such as High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Stockfield has also held positions at Cartoon Network, Disney Online and Modem Media.
In addition to Marist, Mindy has been an Adjunct Professor at New York University and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications’ graduate program at Syracuse University.
Fun fact - Mindy earned a “Duck-torate” degree from Disney University when she was a student on the Disney College Program and a cast member operating the Dumbo ride at Walt Disney World. She lives outside New York City in the Hudson Valley with her family.
