12th Annual Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition (MHRBPC)
was held at Marist College on April 5, 2024

The 2024 "Perfect Your Pitch" session included a brief overview of the MHRBPC, information on the mentoring program and a presentation from Dr. Jennifer Robinette, Assistant Professor of Communication and Public Relations at Marist College on how to communicate persuasively. Cynthia Worrad, Assistant Dean of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics provided key information on the 2024 competition and mentoring program.
Learn how to communicate persuasively to perfect a business plan pitch and prepare for the competition, along with connecting to successful community members through the business plan competition mentoring program to assist with your entrepreneurial journey.
Guest Speakers:
Dr. Jennifer Robinette, Assistant Professor of Communication and Public Relations at Marist College shared her tips on how to "Perfect Your Pitch" and create an informative and engaging business plan pitch video and in-person pitch to engage the judges.
Travis Biro, Senior Product Manager, Ensono, discussed his experience as a former competitor and winner of the 2019 MHRBPC, and now, as a judge for the 2024 MHRBPC competition. Travis has been involved in the competition since his win in 2019 supporting the efforts of the Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition (MHRBPC) and the New York State Business Plan Competition (NYBPC).
The Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition encourages students to build their own business idea and compete for funding. Winners of the regional competition have the opportunity to move on to compete in the NYS Business Plan Competition (NYBPC). The business plan competitions encourage students to think like entrepreneurs and provide them with in-kind and monetary support and incentives to develop their prospective businesses.
New York State Competition (NYBPC): Winners from the 10 regions in New York State get the opportunity to move on to the NYBPC finals, held over three elimination rounds. First Round: Student Team Videos and Slide Decks are required for asynchronous judging and selection of top teams per track and special prize winners. Second Round: Student Teams Pitch business plans to a panel of judges, in-person in individual Tracks on April 25, 2024; and Third Round: Winning Team in each Track from round two competes in-person for Grand Prize.
