How to Order Transcripts
An academic transcript is a record issued by the College to communicate a student's full academic history. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) requires that transcripts of student records be released only upon the written consent of the student.
Please use one of the methods below to order transcripts.
1.) Via myMarist Portal (Request Printed Transcripts)
This service is for currently enrolled students and alumni who still have access to their Marist User ID and Password. This service allows the requestor to send an electronic request for Printed Transcripts to the Registrar's Office. Upon receipt of the electronic request, the Registrar's Office will print and mail the transcripts to the person or organization and address specified in the request via First Class US Mail. These transcripts are not sent electronically.
A full mailing address including recipient’s name, street address, city, state and zip code is required. Sending to an email address is not acceptable – see Electronic Transcripts below.
There is no fee for this service. Please allow two business days for processing.
This option is available for students whose entire record began on or after January 1, 1990. Students with records that began prior to January 1990, must submit a request following the steps for options 2 or 3 below.
This option is not available for students who:
- Have any records prior to January 1990
- Did not graduate and have not been enrolled within the last 2 years
- Want delivery by pre-paid overnight service
- Want electronic delivery (please see Electronic Transcripts)
- Require any document or form to accompany the transcript
Required: Marist Account and Password. If you do not remember your Marist Account and Password, please contact the Marist Help Desk for assistance in obtaining your Account and Password. The Help Desk can be reached by phone at (845) 575-4357 or by email at helpdesk@marist.edu.
*** If you wish to pick up your transcripts at the Registrar's Office, enter your request via myMarist with the following modifications:
- In the "Issue to" field, enter your First and Last Name.
- In the "Street Line 1" field, enter "Pick Up" and your area code and phone number (10 digits). Leave the City, State and Zip Code fields blank.
2.) Electronic Transcripts (via the National Student Clearinghouse) – going live December 14, 2021.
We have now partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse to deliver transcripts electronically (a fee is assessed). This service is available to currently enrolled students, former students and alumni. These transcripts are considered official copies and can be produced on demand.
To order electronic transcripts please go to https://tsorder.studentclearinghouse.org/school/ficecode/00276500 and click on the Green “Order-TrackVerfiy” button and follow the instructions. The National Student Clearinghouse will assess a small fee for this service.
These requests can made online 24/7, and requestors will have access to real-time, tracking that shows when the transcript request was received and fulfilled.
Requests for records from January 1990 to present will usually process within 24 hours.
Students with records prior to January 1990 require extra processing time. If you attended prior to January 1990, please submit a completed Legacy Transcript Request Form as an attachment to your online request.

Requests that include attachments require extra processing time.
3.) Written Requests via the Transcript Request Form
Transcript Request Form: Download the Transcript Request Form
This service is for currently enrolled students, former students and alumni to request printed transcripts that are mailed via First Class US Mail.
There is no fee for this service. Please allow two business days for processing and a minimum of 14 days for delivery by the US Postal Service. Please take note of weekends and holidays when the college is closed and plan accordingly.
Transcript Request Forms may be submitted using one of the following steps. An original handwritten ink signature of the student is required. (Please TYPE or PRINT CLEARLY. Illegible requests cannot be processed)
- In-person: Donnelly Hall 203.
- By US Mail: The written request is mailed in a sealed envelope to:
Marist College Office of the Registrar
3399 North Road
Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
- By email attachment: The written request is scanned and attached to an email addressed to transcript.request@marist.edu.
Please note that this option still requires filling out the Transcript Request Form that includes the student’s handwritten signature. The form is then scanned and sent as an email attachment. Emailed requests that do not have the written request as an attachment will not be filled.
Fees:
Printed Transcripts are provided free of charge. Do not send payment.
Electronic Transcripts have a fee assessed by the National Student Clearinghouse.
Processing:
Requests for printed transcripts are processed in the order in which they are received and may take up to 2 business days (excluding weekends & holidays). Same-day processing is not available. If the college is closed for a holiday or inclement weather, requests will be processed in the order in which they were received once the college reopens.
Electronic Transcript requests are processed 24/7. Requests in the queue are released to the National Clearinghouse at 6:00 pm EST daily. The following types of requests need extra processing time as they require manual intervention by the college. Processing time varies.
- Requests with attachments
- Requests for records that predate January 1990
If the college is closed for a holiday or inclement weather, requests that require manual intervention by the college will be processed when the college reopens and in the order in which the requests were received.
Delivery for Printed Transcripts:
Printed Transcripts are sent by First Class US Mail. Overnight delivery service is available only if a prepaid shipping label is provided at the time the order is placed. Prepaid overnight service is not available with requests via myMarist portal. Same-day processing is not available.
Please note: The US Postal Service lists the Delivery Standard for First Class Mail to be “1-3 business days (not guaranteed).” However, our recent experience is that First Class Mail may take 14+ business days and that is not guaranteed. If you need faster service, are sending mail outside of the United States, or require tracking, please arrange for pre-paid expedited mail service OR consider the option for Electronic Transcripts. USPS, FedEx and UPS all have online apps to purchase pre-paid expedited shipping labels.
