About Our Organization
The Marist American Chemical Society runs General Chemistry review sessions prior to each exam with students and faculty available to answer any questions students may have. The society also holds its annual Mole Day celebration, hosts pizza parties each semester, and has fundraisers, including selling its popular science-themed T-shirts. The department also hosts a series of lectures available to students every semester.
Club Leadership
President: Sean Kennedy
- Conducts meetings, organizes and oversees all activities and events, and has responsibility for the organization.
Vice President: Rachel Jano
- Takes over duties of President in his or her absence. Organize and oversee all committee activities and events. Supplies meetings with food.
Secretary: Rebecca Robinson
- Responsible for all internal and external communications. Tracks minutes of all meetings and keeps a calendar of all scheduled events. Also responsible for priority points.
Treasurer: Khadija Rizwan
- Responsible for all financial matters, including the annual fundraiser. Orders cash advances for club events and follows with providing the Business Office with receipts to substantiate all purchases.
Webmaster: Ariana Novera
- Responsible for updating the club website and managing Instagram account.
Meeting Times
2024 ACS Meetings/General Chemistry Exam Review Sessions:
Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 7 - 9 p.m.
Wednesday, March 20, from 7 - 9 p.m.
Wednesday, April 24, from 7 - 9 p.m.
All meetings will be held in Student Center 3102.
Earn Priority Points through Clubs and Activities
To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities.
To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities PLUS the community service event.
To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities including community service. If executive board members do not complete all of the requirements to earn three points, they will be eligible to receive up to two points based on the above criteria.
