About Our Organization
The Marist College Cheerleading Team performs at all home football games, as well as all home men's and women's basketball games. The cheerleaders travel with the Marist men's and women's basketball teams to the MAAC tournament in March, at the end of each season. The team will also travel alongside the Red Foxes at the NCAA tournament if either the men's or women's basketball teams earn a bid.
In addition to performing at games, The Marist College Cheerleading Team has competed in a variety of competitions. Past competitions include the Albany Regional Cheerleading Competition and Reach the Beach in Maryland. The team also attends the NCAA College National Cheerleading Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2018, the team was awarded 6th place in the Intermediate All-Girl Division. The team also attends community events, such as The Walk to Defeat ALS, and hosts a “Kid’s Day” Event annually.

Train in Our State-of-the-Art Facilities
A renovated and expanded 140,000-square foot James J. McCann Center Recreation Center was opened to the Marist community in January 2020. All of our club sports teams have unparalleled access to this state-of-the-art facility, including use of our Team Weight Room, Fitness Center, Auxiliary Gymnasium and Indoor Turf Facility.
The spaces referenced above can be scheduled for your club, and students can work with the Coordinator of Club Sports & Intramurals to determine availability.
Join the Team!
Are you interested in becoming a Marist College Cheerleader? All class years are welcome.
For any questions regarding tryouts/details/requirements, please DM us on Instagram @marist_cheerleading or email us at cheerleading.club@marist.edu.
Practice Schedule
Practices are typically held two to three times per week and an additional Strength and Conditioning team lift is held once per week throughout the fall & spring semesters. Athletes are expected to work out and practice cheerleading elements on their own throughout the summer and winter months. The team re-assembles each year in mid-late August for camp, practices, and tryouts.
