Digital Media Studio
The Digital Media Studio houses two computer labs. All computers are iMacs with 27" monitors, 16 gigs of RAM, DVD-RW drives, and work station level video cards. Every computer is loaded with the latest versions of industry-standard software including the Adobe CC Master suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Flash Professional, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro), Autodesk Maya for 3D modeling and animation and Corel Painter for digital painting.
Every computing station is also equipped with its own high quality Epson flatbed scanner for both transparency and reflective scanning and a Wacom digitizing tablet. In addition, there is a special scanning and printing area, with a dedicated 35mm film scanner and 11 x 17" flatbed scanner for oversize work. The networked printers include a color laser printer capable of printing up to 11 x 17" duplex in full color and a black and white 1200 dpi laser printer. A state of the art large format Epson printer is also available for printing large images up to 24" wide.
Students have access to the digital labs seven days a week, during regular Steel Plant Art Studios hours. Even when a digital media class is taking place in one lab, the other is always available for students to work on projects. All computers are networked together so your files are available to you wherever and whenever you choose to work. High speed internet is always available in the Steel Plant, both as a wired and wireless option.
