The New Student Checklist will help you stay organized and guide you through the steps to become an official member of the Red Fox family. Be sure to review the deposit deadlines to secure your spot, and continue using the checklist to stay on track for a smooth, successful semester. We can't wait to welcome you to campus soon!

You’ll have the opportunity to meet faculty, students, and alumni — and experience our facilities and campus life firsthand. Can't make our April events? Explore Marist from anywhere with our Virtual Visit options, including student panels, virtual tours, and more. Prefer a personal visit? We’re open seven days a week for campus tours, giving you the chance to see life as a Red Fox up close.

Your enrollment deposit secures your spot at Marist and is the first step you take to becoming an official Red Fox. Once you deposit, you can submit your student ID Card photo and your housing preferences, and begin our enrollment checklist!
You can access your Marist University email after you receive an activation notice sent to your personal email. Make sure to check your Marist email regularly, as all future communications will be sent there. Your Marist account also provides access to the myMarist student portal and other important resources.

You can access your Marist University email after receiving an activation notice sent to your personal email. Make sure to check your Marist email regularly, as all future communications will be sent there. Your Marist account also provides access to the myMarist student portal and other important resources.

June Orientation introduces you to academic opportunities, student life, and campus resources. Connect with your Red Fox community and get your questions answered. This one-day program runs on eight dates from May 30 to June 8, 2025, with identical sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis—register early! Can’t attend? Virtual orientation modules arrive via email in July, and the Class of 2029 will kick off the semester with several days of orientation before classes begin in August.

Arrange to have your high school send official transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. If you’ve earned college-level credits, have a transcript sent from the college/university to Undergraduate Admission. For AP or IB credit, request your official scores be sent to Marist's Office of the Registrar from the testing agency.

Fill out your Housing Application, including:
- Emergency Contact Information
- Lifestyle Preferences and Roommate Matching Survey
- Residence Halls Rankings
- First Year Special Interest Housing Communities (if applicable)
Browse the Office of Housing and Residential Life’s frequently asked housing questions, including how roommates are selected, how to apply for a medical housing accommodation, and where to rent refrigerators and microwaves. The Office will send you an email notification in early August once your housing assignment is available on the StarRez Housing Portal.

Commuter Students are asked to complete a few short questions regarding their student experience. The results will be used to design programs and events specific to their needs and wishes.

Please submit all mandatory health forms and immunization records as soon as possible. Health forms are required to register for classes and move into campus housing. Students must use Marist’s Health Services Patient Portal via Medicat to submit health information. Make sure to check for Secure Messages in your Patient Portal, where Health Services staff communicate important updates. We cannot accept emailed submissions.

As a full-time undergraduate student, you must have health insurance. You are automatically enrolled in the Marist-sponsored plan through Allen J. Flood Companies. If you have comparable or better health insurance coverage, you can opt-out by completing an online waiver and providing proof of insurance. Learn more.

This virtual portion of New Student Orientation is a four-week, self-paced program that launches in early July. Each week, students (and guardians) will receive an email with a link to view modules at their own pace. These virtual modules are packed with exciting and interactive opportunities to learn about life as a Red Fox. Check your email for module release dates.

Your Marist Student ID Card is your University identification card, residence hall access, dining meal plan and Thrifty Cash, library card, and Marist Money. You will receive your Marist Student ID Card during Opening Day when you pick up your housing keys or during Orientation check-in (for Commuters). You’ll need to submit a headshot photo.

The Office of Student Financial Services will provide an itemized statement of charges for the semester in July. You can view and pay your tuition using myMarist portal’s Student Financial Services tab. You must be signed into the portal.

The Office of the Registrar creates your first-semester schedule* and will send you instructions on how to view your courses once your schedule is complete in early August. When the semester begins, an academic advisor assigned to you can assist you in understanding the Core Curriculum and major requirements and the DegreeWorks program, which gives you 24/7 access to your degree progress. You will have the opportunity to change your schedule during the following Add/Drop Period dates of August 25 to August 29.

Each year, new students are required to read a text called the Common Read that promotes interdisciplinary dialogues engaging with topics in diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice. Learn more.
The Marist Bookstore can help you with all your textbook needs. Using the link below, enter the CRN number for each of your classes to see what books are required and then you can reserve your textbooks and select the Store Pick Up option or have them delivered.
Marist offers students a choice of preferred PC and MAC laptops on the Marist campus. The ThinkPad University Program has a selection of "Marist-ready" laptops you can order.

Opening Day will be here before you know it and we are so excited to welcome all our new Red Foxes! As the day gets closer, we will email you and post information about what you can expect when you move to campus on our Move-in Events website. Move-in week will take place Monday, August 18 to Thursday, August 21, 2025. The fall 2025 semester begins on Monday, August 25, 2025.

August Orientation, followed by Welcome Week, will help you feel comfortable, supported, and excited about your university experience from the very beginning. Marist’s Future Options and Choices for Undeclared Students (FOCUS) program sets students up for success with dedicated support and a structured academic plan. Participants take a three-credit Self-Development course in the fall and a one-credit Career Planning course in the spring, guided by instructors who double as academic advisors and peer mentors. Limited to 140 students

You will be paired with an academic advisor based on your chosen major and will receive an email in early August with your advisor's information. Your advisor is an important resource to help you with courses as well as support you in achieving your academic goals. When you start the semester, be sure to reach out and begin building a relationship with your advisor!
