Big Goals, Big Impact: Become an Advocate for Marist’s Day of Giving

March 11, 2025 — Marist’s Day of Giving on March 26 is more than just an event — it’s an opportunity to create lasting change at the University. This year, with a goal of reaching 4,000 donors in just 24 hours, advocates will play a crucial role in rallying support from Red Foxes around the world and inspiring others to give.
By sharing their stories, reaching out to family and friends, and making a gift of their own, Day of Giving advocates help drive the success of this exciting campaign in 2025.
“Imagine one advocate kicks off the chain by bringing in five new donors,” said Chanel Vitale Marino '12/'16M, Director of Annual Giving. “If each of those five donors then becomes an advocate and reaches five more people, this ripple effect can generate well over 4,000 donors for Marist's upcoming Day of Giving — proving just how powerful the support of advocates can be in spreading the message and making a big impact.”
What is a Day of Giving Advocate?
Marist Day of Giving advocates do more than give—they help bring in new donors. Whether by texting former classmates, posting their Marist story on social media, or personally asking friends and family to give, advocates inspire others to take action. Every gift they help secure strengthens the Marist Fund and other designations across campus, directly supporting scholarships, hands-on learning opportunities, and campus innovations that shape the unique Marist Experience.

Advocates who inspire five or more donors to give will earn prizes and incentives. Top advocates will be in the running for even more Marist swag, too!
A Student and Advocate: Meet Megan Doshi '26
Megan Doshi '26 knows firsthand how philanthropy transforms lives. A recipient of donor-funded scholarships and programs, she has benefitted from alumni generosity throughout her Marist journey. Now, as an advocate, she is rallying her friends, family, and network to give back and make a difference.
“I chose to become an advocate because I’ve seen how donor support transforms students' experiences,” said Megan, a business administration major with a double concentration in marketing and international business. “From scholarships to funding for student organizations and campus initiatives, philanthropy has played a massive role in my time at Marist.”
As President of Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT), donor support has provided Megan with opportunities to connect with alumni and industry leaders, while also helping to fund her transformative study abroad experience in Asia.

“As an advocate, I want to do my part in encouraging others to give back and ensure that current and future students have access to the same incredible opportunities I’ve had,” she said.
