Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association Academic Partnership
The Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association (FPPOA) was established in 1955 and is a professional organization whose members are the creative drive for improving our federal court system through cooperative efforts of training and communication. It is their mission to study and improve methods of correctional service, to promote a program of public relations in order to build and maintain an enlightened public interest in the proper administration of probation, pretrial services, parole and other correctional services, to continually maintain and advocate high professional personnel standards and to promote the improvement of the laws governing criminal justice and correctional process.
The accomplishments of the FPPOA have been many. They participated in research and published a compilation of felony registration statutes among the various states. In cooperation with the Federal Judicial Center, it developed and published a guide to public relations for officers. Today, the Association provides national leadership in the professional growth of probation and pretrial services. Working closely with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the Federal Judicial Center, the Bureau of Prisons, the Sentencing Commission and the Parole Commission, the FPPOA continues to promote professionalism within the federal criminal justice system.
Marist recognizes the importance of providing affordable educational opportunities to the men and women of FPPOA. All members, along with their immediate adult family members, will receive the following benefits:
