New Issue of The Hudson River Valley Review Covers 300 Years of Regional History

Three hundred years of history fill the pages of the latest issue of The Hudson River Valley Review. This latest edition spans the Colonial Dutch, and enslaved African, celebration of Pinkster, the Revolutionary-era recollections of a French gentleman and American farmer, past World War I recollections of an Orange County man, and the establishment of the Hudson River Valley Greenway.

"Reading Lolita in Tehran" subject of First Year Seminar Lecture

POUGHKEEPSIE - Dr. Azar Nafisi, author of the number one New York Times bestseller "Reading Lolita in Tehran," will be the speaker at Marist College's Third Annual First Year Seminar Lecture in the McCann Center on Wednesday, Oct. 21st at 12 p.m. A book signing will follow. Marist Again Named a 'Best College Value' by Kiplinger's

Marist has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of the Top 300 Best College Values of 2017. The College is No. 73 on the list of best values in private colleges, according to the top personal finance magazine. This is the eleventh straight year Marist has been on the prestigious list, which features schools that combine outstanding academics with affordable cost.

Marist College Partners with IBM and Linux Foundation to Support Linux on the Mainframe

Ross A. Mauri '80, General Manager, z Systems, IBM Corporation and Vice Chair of the Marist Board of Trustees, yesterday announced the first Linux-only mainframe, LinuxONE, at LinuxCon in Seattle, Washington. IBM has chosen Marist, along with Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies, to host clouds that will provide developers access to a virtual IBM LinuxONE at no cost.

Marist Again Named a “Best College Value” by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Acknowledged for Embodying Exceptional Economic and Academic Value

Marist has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of the Top 300 Best College Values of 2016. Marist climbed six spots on the list of Best Private College Values, to 57 from 63. Introduced in 1998, the rankings highlight public schools, private universities and private liberal arts colleges that combine outstanding academics with affordable cost. In addition, Kiplinger has ranked the top 100 best values in each category.
