Why did you choose the Marist IMC program?
After completing my Bachelors of Science in December of 2016, I immediately began exploring graduate programs. My desired area of study and career are focused on marketing, but it was a matter of finding the right fit. I reviewed many different online programs, including the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) M.A. at Marist. I spoke with co-workers and marketing acquaintances in the field and Marist kept getting rave reviews. After reading in detail about the IMC program, I knew it was the perfect place to reach my personal education goals.
What was the best experience you had as a student?
The best experience as a student at Marist has been working with a cohort of bright and talented individuals. During the program, I have had the opportunity to meet (virtually) many dedicated students from all walks of life. Interacting with a diverse group of people is the very foundation of being a marketer. Group projects within the IMC program have challenged me and allowed me the ability to teach and learn from others.
What will a degree in integrated marketing communication do for your career?
Integrated marketing communication is the future of marketing. Having a degree in IMC makes me an asset to my company and allows me to look holistically at communications across my organization. Silos in the corporate marketing world still exist; an integrated approach to communications across all channels and platforms enables a brand to fully harness the power of their messaging. Having the expertise in IMC takes me to the next level as a marketer.
