School of Science
School of Science Summer Pre-College Programs
Earn college credit and get a taste of campus life while still in high school. The Marist Summer Pre-College program allows high school students to experience the excitement of college life at one of the top rated colleges in the country! The School of Science offers two unique Pre-College courses in the science field.
Environmental Science
In our Environmental Science course, students use the beautiful and majestic Hudson River Valley as a natural laboratory. In this course, you will examine natural systems, the impacts of human activities upon these systems, and how society deals with these impacts. You will have the opportunity to explore how evironmental science impacts politics, economics, and ethics, engage in the effects of climate change, learn how human population growth influences the environment, and more.
Pre-Health
The summer Pre-Health course is a great first step for learning about the opportunities in the healthcare profession. In addition to getting familiar with the variety of fields that exist, you will learn about current healthcare issues in the US, the history of medicine and healthcare, and some of the important research being published with respect to healthcare. Students will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of healthcare professionals in addition to learning about technology in the medical classroom by spending time in our simulation lab, as well as running some basic tests in our medical technology lab.
