Dr. Kari Morrison

Director of Clinical Teacher Preparation

Bio

Dr. Kari Morrison is the Director of Clinical Teacher Preparation and joined Marist 2013. She has a wealth of teaching experience in grades K through 6 in various schools throughout the United States. As a curriculum coordinator at an international preschool in Tokyo, Dr. Morrison mentored novice teachers which led her to pursue a doctorate degree in teacher leadership from Walden University in Minnesota. Her dissertation focused on parent participation in assisting their children with early literacy skills at home. Dr. Morrison created an early literacy program for preschoolers assisting parents and teachers to help children learn early literacy skills. She completed her Master of Science degree in teacher leadership from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Morrison completed her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with emphasis on special education and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She is delighted to be a part of the Marist Education Department in preparing teacher candidates to become effective teachers.
