Dr. Maurya W. Glaude
Professional Lecturer, MSW Practicum Education Coordinator
Bio
Maurya Glaude, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW-BACS is a Professional Lecturer and Master of Social Work (MSW) Practicum Education Coordinator in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Her 15+ years of direct practice experience and extensive research on mental health and culturally relevant practice models enhance her teaching and mentoring of students in preparation for frontline community-level practice. She acknowledges her responsibility as a leader to co-create, mentor, and prepare future leaders through practice-informed research and programming that prioritizes changing systems. As a clinician and author, she is committed to family-centered interventions that activate generational healing and promote family preservation. Dr. Glaude enjoys painting, zydeco dancing, and traveling with family and friends.
