Housing & Residential Life Staff
Director
The Director of Housing and Residential Life is a full-time Student Affairs Professional. The Director has an office in the Office of Housing and Residential Life (RO 387). The Director oversees the entire housing and residence life program and operation.
Assistant Directors (AD)
Assistant Directors are full-time Student Affairs Professionals. Assistant Directors have offices in the Office of Housing and Residential Life (RO 387). Assistant Directors provide supervision and training for the Resident Directors and the student staff. Each Assistant Director is responsible for a particular area of campus.
Resident Directors (RD)
Resident Directors (RD) are full-time Student Affairs Professionals. The RD is responsible for the day-to-day operations their assigned residence hall or apartment area. All RDs have offices and apartments in their residence areas and provide supervision and training for the student staff. RDs are responsible for the overall functioning of the individual residence areas.
Assistant Resident Directors (ARD)
Assistant Resident Directors (ARD) are students who have received extensive training in basic helping skills, crisis intervention, multicultural relations, and conflict resolution. ARDs have at least one year of RA experience before assuming this role. The ARD assists the RD in providing supervision and training for the RA staff. ARDs also assist the RDs with the tasks involved in the overall functioning of an individual residence facility.
Resident Assistants (RA)
RAs are full time students who have been selected, after an intensive search process, to provide each floor or apartment area with a representative from the Housing Department. RAs are responsible for developing educational and social programming, promoting positive community development and act as a resource for fellow resident students. RAs received extensive training in basic helping skills, crisis intervention, multicultural relations, and conflict resolution.
