Making Purchases with Professional Development Funds
For equipment to be tagged and eligible for PD funds reimbursement, it must be purchased through the Computer Store and it must be a Marist-supported model. Currently supported Lenovo models for 2022-2023 are the 10th Gen ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook in black, ThinkPad T14s laptop, ThinkPad T16 laptop, ThinkCentre M90a Desktop with Touch or no Touch and 23.8 inch HD monitor. Since these models are so new, the Client Technologies team is currently working on engineering the Marist software image for their hard drives. You may purchase a machine now; however, it will not be deployed to you until the image is ready, which will likely be mid-July. Any laptop purchased with PD funds is subject to a $197 licensing fee and any desktop purchased with PD funds is subject to a $80 licensing fee. Payment of the licensing fee is the responsibility of the faculty member and is mandatory for all computer purchases. The fee covers software licensing costs including the operating system, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, McAfee security software, and device encryption. Any computer equipment purchased with PD funds is Marist College property. Computer equipment purchased with PD funds will be supported by Marist IT for the duration of the warranty.
