Food Insecurity
The committee on food insecurity was established during the Spring 2023 semster, and creates and implements tangible solutions to combat instances of food insecurity for students on and off campus. Food insecurity is defined as inconsistent access to healthy and nutritious food.
Trends in higher education show an increase of instances of food insecurity among college students. Food insecurity effects all aspects of an individual's life, creating additional obstacles to success.
Our goal is to assist students in achieving success both in and outside of the classroom. This committee will work hard to ascertain feasible solutions for Marist to be implemented for the entire Marist community.
