Campus Dining: What’s New This Semester

August 27, 2024 — A new academic year means fresh dining options! With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, premium offerings, and extended hours, students will find exciting changes at Marist dining locations across campus.

Hudson at Hancock

Formerly known as Taste of Florence, the newly revamped Hudson at Hancock, located in the first-floor lobby of the Hancock Center, will offer the following:

  • 100% Made-Without-Gluten Retail Shop: this grab-and-go menu will feature wraps, salads, breakfast bowls, chicken wings, grain bowls, and certified gluten-free pastries—delicious for everyone, not just those with gluten sensitivities.
  • Beverage offerings will include drip coffee and a selection of craft beverages including organic mocktails like “Hudson Sunrise” and coffee drinks like “Maple Me Crazy Cold Brew.”

Dining Hall Enhancements

The Dining Hall inside the Murray Student Center is as lively as ever, with innovative updates and thoughtful additions to elevate the student dining experience. Here’s what you can expect in the dining hall this semester:

  • Music added to enhance the dining atmosphere, with student-submitted Spotify playlists.
  • Extended weekend brunch and omelet service until 1:30 p.m. with a build-your-own waffle station and a pancake conveyor belt.
  • New pasta toss station offering customizable pasta dishes with various toppings and sauces.
  • Allergen-free LIFE Station shifting to more approachable, homestyle comfort food.
  • Global flavors remain a staple at the Global Kitchen section of the dining hall. You can expect the new flattop stations to keep firing up fan favorites like omelets in the mornings and a range of international options, from gyros to Hibachi-style cuisine.

Grubhub Food Lockers

You may have seen Grubhub Food Lockers located at the Cabaret and at the Marketplce on east campus. These convenient smart lockers allow students to order meals through Grubhub for a quick and easy pickup.

Fun Food Locker Facts:

  • Grubhub Food Lockers promote food safety, transaction ease, and reduce theft.
  • Students are only able to pick up their own order with a personalized QR code to scan minimizing order or pickup mix-ups.
  • Grubhub lockers offer a no-contact dining experience.

Expanded Dining Options Across Campus

  • At Steel Plant Cafe students can now enjoy expanded toast toppings like lox and cream cheese. New monthly latte specials will bring a sweet twist to the cafe menu. First up is the “Campus Kickstart Caramel Mocha Latte.” The cafe also boasts extended hours, offering students morme to snack and study.
  • Sports fans can now look forward to food trucks stationed at every home football game in the end zone at Tenney Stadium. At football games at Tenney Stadium and basketball events at McCann Center there will now be alcoholic beverages available for purchase from local breweries and cideries.
  • Books and Beans will keep going strong with its coffee and bagel classics while also adding matcha lattes to cater to the growing demand for energizing green powdered tea.
  • Donnelly Cafe is adding another sandwich to its menu: the classic BLT.
  • At Yella’s students should be on the lookout for Limited Time Offer milkshakes and sandwiches, including seasonal favorites like the Pumpkin Spice milkshake and the Screamin' Cordon Bleu Sandwich.
