May 14, 2024 — Marist's American Bar Association (ABA)-approved Paralegal Program weekend schedule will, for the first time, be offered in a hybrid format starting this fall.

Students who attend weekend classes to earn their Paralegal Certificate will have the option of being fully remote, fully in-person, or a mix of both based on their preference. This new weekend format allows students to attend classes on scheduled weekends either on campus or via Zoom, with additional work completed on their own schedule (asynchronously).

Classes for this 12-month program will be held on Saturdays and Sundays during the fall, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is available to students who have satisfied the 36 general education credit requirements. One goal of this new format is to provide flexibility, particularly for students living outside the area, to attend.

“There are 4 reasons to enroll — education on the weekends, choice of remote or in-person attendance, flexibility, and a proven track record,” said Annamaria Maciocia, Marist Paralegal Program Director, Pre-Law Advisor. “Students have full flexibility to select how to attend, and I hope those interested in the law will explore this exciting new option.”

As the only ABA-approved paralegal program in the upper Hudson River Valley, the Paralegal Certificate at Marist is designed to give students practical experience, hands-on learning, and resources to advance at an accelerated pace.

Marist’s program, which has been ABA-approved for over 35 years, offers specialized education and training in legal theory combined with practical hands-on experience and is taught by practicing attorneys.
