April 1, 2025 — Red Foxes rose together on March 26 and the impact was nothing short of extraordinary. Marist University’s second annual Day of Giving far surpassed expectations, with nearly $1.2 million raised from more than 3,400 donors, doubling last year’s total and increasing donor participation by 20%.

From alumni and students to faculty, staff, and friends, the entire Marist community united to make a lasting difference.

“It’s moments like these that remind us of what makes the Marist community so special,” said President Kevin Weinman. "Many dedicated donors funded ambitious challenge grants, including the Parents Council, Board of Trustees, and dozens of other groups and individuals. These efforts had a tremendous multiplier effect! We’re making a lasting impact and continuing to rise together."

Key initiatives across campus will directly benefit from this surge of support, including scholarships, academic programs, and student organizations. Marist Athletics stood out as a major force in this year’s success, with 2,000+ donors stepping up to support Marist’s teams and student-athletes, garnering more than $600K in gifts.

Parents also played an important role in the Day of Giving success, with the Parents Council issuing a $50,000 challenge that was unlocked after victoriously reaching 700+ parent donors.

For Marist community members like Robin Torres '95, the Day of Giving is more than just a chance to contribute—it’s an opportunity to give back and pay it forward. As an alumna, Marist Parent, and Assistant Dean of Students Affairs, Torres embodies the full Marist experience and knows firsthand how philanthropy shapes her family's journey to success.

“I chose this community because of its exceptional education and the unwavering commitment to one another,” she said. “This is a place where students go out of their way to help others, holding doors open and offering support to one another. We are counting on future generations to continue that tradition—by giving back in any way they can, ensuring the doors stay open for those who come after.”

As the University continues to expand its culture of philanthropy and inspire the next generation of leaders, the success of this year’s Day of Giving stands as a testament to the strength and generosity of the Marist community.

“Every gift, no matter the size, made an impact — proving once again that when Red Foxes rise together, they truly are second to none,” said Vice President for Advancement Chris DelGiorno.
