February 19, 2019—Jerry Herman’s witty musical of matching mayhem Hello, Dolly! will be performed by the Marist Theatre Program and the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts at the Nelly Goletti Theatre February 27-March 3.
Set in 1890s New York, the story follows Dolly Levi, a socialite-turned-matchmaker, as she tries to help her “half-a-millionaire” client, Horace Vandergelder, and hide her own romantic designs. It features songs such as, “Hello, Dolly!,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” and “Before the Parade Passes By.” The show features a nineteen-piece orchestra and a cast of 32 students.
“This show is so lovely and beautiful, a true golden-era gem” said Matt Andrews, Director of the Marist Theatre Program, “It has been a joy for our student actors to find every nuance in the script and sing these celebrated musical theatre songs.”
There will be six performances: Wednesday, February 27, 8:00pm; Thursday, February 28, 8:00pm; Friday, March 1, 8:00pm; Saturday, March 2, 2:00pm and 8:00pm; and Sunday, March 3, 2:00pm. Reservations can be made online: http://marist.edu/web/clubs/box-office. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $6 for seniors, students, and military.
