From Classroom to Career

March 11, 2025 — Over 50 employers from a variety of industries visited Marist last Wednesday to meet with students at the twice annual Spring Career and Internship Fair.
Each semester, the Center for Career Services organizes the fair, bringing top companies, government agencies, and other organizations onto campus so that students have the chance for one-on-one networking in the fields that interest them.
The organizations involved are actively hiring for full-time jobs as well as internships, and they include Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, 1-800-Flowers, major agencies from at the federal (Federal Bureau of Investigation, Transportation Security Administration, Amtrak) state (NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, NYS Insurance Fund) and local levels, and many others.
“You get to hear about the different jobs each company has that you may not know about just from their website or LinkedIn,” said Fred Berberich '25, a computer science major who attended the fair. “Meeting people face-to-face as opposed to applying through a computer screen is great.”
“The Career Fair gives you direct practice in marketing yourself, learning how your major and skills can fit into a company,” said Kailey Levinson '25, a business administration major who was also in attendance.
About 500 students attended last week’s event, and many of the organizations attending were represented by Marist alumni who now work in their fields.
“We always encourage students to engage early and often with employers,” said Mary Jones, Executive Director of the Center for Career Services. “The Spring Career and Internship Fair is a perfect opportunity for students to explore internship and job opportunities, cultivate personal relationships with alumni and employers, and take the first step toward their dream careers.”
