Fall 2021 Parking Information
As the campus finalizes plans for the arrival of Faculty, Staff, and Students, parking is always a question that needs to be addressed. Given the challenges we are facing this spring with COVID-19, there have been opportunities to make parking changes that hopefully will improve parking. This is, considering that many classes will have a hybrid or virtual component reducing, I have attached two parking maps that I would ask that you review. The first is the parking opportunities on the main campus, the other directions, and a map to Conklin Hall at Dutchess Community College.
Registering a Vehicle
To adhere to appropriate social distancing guidelines and avoid lines, all parking permits will be mailed to the address of your choice upon registering on-line please visit marist.edu/security/parking and register your vehicle. All vehicles on campus are required to have a valid permit.
Enforcement
Enforcement of parking will commence on the first day of classes. Each member of the Marist community should park where assigned. There are signs at each parking lot entrance, A-Frame signs will initially be in place to supplement directions, and maps are included with this email. Fines vary from $30 to $100 per violation. Repeat offenders will be booted.
First-Year (Freshman) Parking
As has been the policy of Marist College, first-year students will not be allowed to bring vehicles to campus. If you have extenuating circumstances such as medical, or academic circumstances a waiver will be considered by emailing safety@marist.edu. Exceptions will be placed at Conklin Hall at Dutchess Community College, approximately 2 miles from campus. A shuttle service will be available to the main Marist campus.
Sophomore Parking
For the 2020-2021 academic year only, those Residential Sophomores wanting to bring a vehicle, even if they do not have the required 50 credits, will be issued a residential parking permit for the duration of the academic year.
Commuters
For this academic year, there are more options available for commuters. Please refer to the campus map below.
Fontaine Lot
The Fontaine lot will be available for residential students for the spring semester. This is subject to change given the demands placed upon the lot. Faculty and staff that have historically parked in Fontaine, are being asked to park in either the Dyson Lot or the Foy Lot.
Midrise
The Midrise lot will be available for both residential and commuter students this spring. This has historically been a visitor lot utilized by Admissions. They have graciously moved the admissions operations to McCann for the semester.
Foy/Dyson
The Foy/Dyson lots are designated for Faculty/Staff parking only. All unregistered or student vehicles will be cited.
Shuttle Services
Shuttles to and from Dutchess Community College, Conklin Hall will be available about every 30 minutes Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 10:15 pm and Saturday - Sunday, 9:00 am – 10:15 pm. This is subject to change based upon demand. Please know that masks will be required while within the vans. Look for the white Ford 12-passenger vans in front of Conklin Hall and Donnelly Hall.
