Dear Marist Students,  

Thank you to the entire Marist community for the excellent start to our spring semester. After careful consideration and review of the data, we are pleased to share that our COVID-19 alert level has been updated to yellow, effective Thursday, February 10.  

This improvement is a direct result of our work together: students, faculty, and staff committing to our three pillars of public health - masking, vaccination including boosters, and symptomatic testing. We are extremely grateful to each of you who have complied with the guidance and appreciate your efforts. 

With this transition to the yellow alert level, events at Marist can now return to the protocols outlined HERE effective Thursday, February 10, 2022. Highlights of these protocols include: 

• Day-to-Day Campus Activity: 
  • The Marist campus masking policy remains in effect. The use of masks is required in all administrative buildings and indoor campus facilities. 
  • Masks are required when entering or walking around the McCann Recreation Center, but facial coverings are not necessary when exercising, eating, or drinking.  
  • External visitors are permitted in residence halls with a completed Marist Guest Attestation. 
• Events Comprised of ONLY Marist Community Members: 
  • Increased capacity to 70%.
  • All individuals must wear masks indoors.  
  • Food and drink may be served; however, masks must be worn when not actively eating or drinking. 
• Events Comprised of EXTERNAL and Marist Community Members: 
  • Increased capacity to 70%. 
  • All individuals must wear masks indoors. 
  • Food and drink may be served; however, masks must be worn when not actively eating or drinking. 

Our goal is to continue managing our public health to reduce COVID-19 risk and allow the dashboard to get to green. To achieve this goal, here are a few important reminders: 

• If you have any COVID-19 symptoms including cough, headache, shortness of breath, fever, etc., you should consider getting tested.  Students who have questions about COVID-19 or other testing are welcome to contact Health Services at (845) 575-3314. 
• Marist requires all in-person students, faculty, and staff to obtain a COVID-19 booster within 30 days of eligibility, as defined by the CDC. If you have not already done so, please upload your COVID-19 Vaccination Record card to marist.medicatconnect.com immediately.  
• Those who are not yet eligible, must receive their booster within 30 days of becoming eligible. Click here to view frequently asked questions on the COVID-19 booster requirement at Marist.
