COVID-19 Campus Update: Lower West Cedar Placed in Precautionary Quarantine, November 3, 2020
Dear Marist Community,
Over the last 48 hours, our medical and contact tracing teams have been identifying and testing students who could have been exposed to COVID-19. Additional positive cases have been discovered, and we have determined the best course of action to keep the community safe is to place Lower West Cedar Townhouses into a precautionary quarantine.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are going to continue with the following temporary measures:
- In-person dining will be paused. Students are encouraged to eat in their rooms with their roommates.
- Leo Hall will remain in a precautionary quarantine.
- James J. McCann Recreation Center will remain closed until further notice.
- For the rest of campus, excluding Leo Hall and Lower West Cedar Townhouses, in-person classes will continue as scheduled
While we cannot provide an exact timetable on when we will receive additional test results, we will continue to update our dashboard daily, generally by 5:00 pm. If you see any Marist community member violating our COVID-19 related Code of Conduct, please call (845) 575-MASK.
Thank you for all you are doing to help "protect the pack."
Sincerely,
Geoff Brackett, Executive Vice President
Thom Wermuth, Vice President for Academic Affairs
Deb DiCaprio, Vice President for Student Affairs
